Dr Poorvaprabha Patil
Regional Focal Point for SDG 3 at the UN Major Group for Children and Youth
Dr Poorvaprabha Patil is a doctor and frontline worker from India; and an MSc Public Health student studying through LSHTM, University of London. She serves as a Regional Focal Point for SDG 3 at the UN MGCY, and has had the experience of serving as the President of the largest medical students' organisation in India- the Medical Students' Association of India (MSAI)- a network of 20,000+ Indian medical students with a grassroots impact of helping over 1,00,000 people in communities spanning across India, over the course of her term last year. She works as the youngest co-moderator of Healthcare Information For All (a global health network of professionals from 178+ countries working on access to health information), and is a part of Women for Global Health India's core team. During the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, she also trained to be a mental health support provider for young people helping young people through one-on-one consultations; all while working on the frontline during both waves of the pandemic in India.
