Dr. Jamie Morrison is Director of the Food Systems and Food Safety Division at the Food and Agriculture Organization. Jamie is a member of the Food Systems Summit Secretariat. He has more than 25 years of experience in the provision of research, capacity development and technical assistance in relation to the impact of trade and economic policy reform on food security during processes of structural transformation. He is the editor of several books including “Food security in Africa: Market and trade policy for staples foods in Eastern and Southern Africa”. Dr. Morrison has a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of London, an MSc. in Agricultural Economics from Wye College, University of London and a BSc. in Agricultural Science from Massey University, New Zealand. Prior to joining FAO in 2004, he was Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Economics at Imperial College London.
