H.E. Dr Sudarshini Fernandopulle

State Minister of Primary Health Services, Epidemics, and COVID Disease Control, Sri Lanka

Hon. Dr. (Mrs) Sudharshini Fernandopulle is the State Minister of Primary Health Services, Epidemics, and COVID Disease Control.

She obtained her MBBS from University of Colombo in 1985, and MSc and MD in Community Medicine from the same University in 1994 and 2000 respectively.

After a 24 year career as a medical doctor, which included almost a decade of work as a Consultant Community Physician in the Family Health Bureau, she was elected as a member of Parliament in 2010.

She had formerly held the posts of State Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and State Minister of Prison Reforms and Prisoners Rehabilitation. She is also the current chairperson of Women parliamentarians caucus.
