Dr Faten Ben Abdelaziz is Head of the Enhanced Well-being Unit in the Department of Health Promotion at the World Health Organization Headquarters, providing technical support to WHO Member States in policies and programmes development in areas of health promotion. Her current work focus is on well-being of societies, health literacy measurement, equity, urban governance for health and well-being and promoting global standards for health promoting schools - a joint project between WHO and UNESCO.
Dr Ben Abdelaziz has previously served at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean region (EMRO) as Regional Adviser for Health Education and Promotion and Coordinator of Health promotion in the Department of Prevention of Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). At the WHO Centre for Health Development in Kobe, Japan, she served as Technical Officer for Health Promotion, Urbanization and health, Health equity, Women’s health and Gender, and Social Determinants of Health.
