Khazana Sihwaya is the Founder of the 2030 Nutrition Project in Zambia. She is a recipient of the 2018 Study of the US Institute for Young Female Leaders (SUSI), a One Young World Ambassador and senior medical student in Zambia. She is passionate about maternal and neonatal health and the role of good nutrition in reducing non-communicable diseases, such as acute and severe malnutrition. Inspired by her experience of working in Zambian children’s hospitals, she founded the 2030 Child Nutrition Project, which supports infants during the critical 1,000 days of life, runs community education and capacity building programmes to promote behavior change among mothers for optimizing maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes. Over 5,000 children and women have benefited from this initiative since 2019. In 2019, she was also enlisted by USAID as one of the Zambian curators for Youth Lead.
